Location
Our location and wealthy resources are the key to our guests success! Our fishing lodge is situated in Southeast Alaska on the remote Northwest tip of Prince of Wales Island. How did we choose this location for a fishing lodge? Well, having lived in Southeast Alaska and fished throughout the region helped. What really assisted our decision was research provided by fish biologists from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, United States Department of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Marine Fisheries Service.
What's the difference between our location and others in Southeast Alaska? To start, we are a remote fishing lodge located two hours away from the closest community by high-speed boat and we're the only fishing lodge in this region. Our fishing area is comprised of an immense reef system, which provides for great hiding areas for bottom dwelling species like halibut, Ling Cod and rockfish. The reason for these species living amongst the reefs is the wealth and variety of feed, which seeks out the protection of the rocks and kelp forests.
All of the salmon species found in the Pacific Northwest, including Canada, must pass through our region. When the salmon emerge from the streams into the saltwater, they start their migration in a clockwise direction around the Gulf of Alaska. This includes the salmon from Alaska, British Columbia and the northern half of Washington State. When the salmon pass through our region to return to their spawning streams, they must pass by our front door.
If you're looking for an Alaska fishing vacation of a lifetime or a new fishing area to host your yearly retreat away from the populated waters of Homer, Kenai, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan or Craig, look no further! Our guests are the only fishermen in this area with exceptional fishing only minutes from our dock.
