Alaska Fly Fishing / Freshwater Fishing

Our Southeast Alaska lodge is ideally situated for the fly fishing angler. Since we're located on the remote Northwest tip of Prince of Wales Island, we provide clients the opportunity for
fly fishing the remote streams and rivers on Prince of Wales, as well as those of Kupreanof and Kuiu Islands.
One of the main reasons we chose this location for our Alaska fishing lodge was
the quantity of active salmon spawning streams.
Most of the anglers seeking to have a great freshwater fly fishing adventure enjoy what we have to offer. During the early part of the season, April through June, anglers have
fly fishing opportunities for Steelhead, Sockeye Salmon, Dolly Varden, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout in numerous systems. By July, anglers start
fly fishing for returning Coho and Sockeye Salmon that swarm some of the systems along with the trout and Dolly Varden. Around mid July, the streams are full of spawning Pink and Chum Salmon, Dolly Varden and Cutthroat Trout. Starting in the third week of August, anglers will be catching Coho's averaging 14 pounds with an occasional 18+ pounder along with Pinks, Chums, Dolly Varden Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout.
Alaska Fly In Fishing Trips
For the Alaska Fly Fishing angler seeking to fly fish for Coho in the freshwater only, we recommend fishing from the second week in September through the beginning of October. At this time of the year, all of the thirty-five streams that we fish, will be packed with thousands upon thousands of chrome-bright Coho fresh from the saltwater.
For the angler looking to try their hand at Alaska fly fishing, there's never
been a better time than on a stream packed with fish and our attentive,
professional guides are always excited to show new fly fishing anglers how to
effectively handle a fly.
